What's the difference between interest rate and APR?

The interest rate is the proportion of a loan that is charged by the lender for the borrower's use of the loan proceeds.

The APR (annual percentage rate) includes the interest rate and certain other fees charged by the lender, and the APR represents the total cost of borrowing.
